People's Bank Sports Club recently organised the volleyball and netball events of the Inter-Regional Sports Tournament at the Indoor Stadium in Wathupitiwala.
A total of 22 teams competed for the volleyball title, with the Head Office team emerging as champions. The Ratnapura Region claimed second place, followed by the Hambantota Region in third, and the Kurunegala Region in fourth, the bank said in a media release.
In the netball event, 16 teams participated, with the Kandy Region winning the championship. The Nuwara Eliya Region secured second place, while the Polonnaruwa Region finished third, and the Gampaha Region took fourth place.
People's Bank Chief Executive Officer/General Manager Clive Fonseka, along with corporate and executive management, as well as many staff members, attended the event.
