Former England batsman Ian Bell has been appointed as the batting coach of the Sri Lanka Test cricket team, now engaged in a three-match series against England.
Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) confirmed the appointment of Bell, as the ‘Batting Coach’ of the national Test team for the ongoing tour.
“He will start working with the team on August 16 and remain until the conclusion of the three-Test match series,” the SLC press release confirmed.

“We appointed Ian Bell to bring in a person with local knowledge to help the players with key insights on the conditions there. Ian has a lot of experience playing in England, and we believe his inputs will help our team in this crucial tour,” stated Ashley de Silva, the CEO of SLC.
The former England batsman has played in 118 Test matches and scored 7727 runs at an average of 42.69, inclusive of centuries under his belt.
