Designated Twenty20 skipper Dasun Shanaka will travel to the West Indies on Sunday (7), after he was held up from travelling with the team as originally planned.
Shanaka will miss the entire Twenty20 series, but he is expected to join the team for the ODIs, which will follow soon after the ongoing T20s.
"Sri Lanka Cricket wishes to announce that Dasun Shanaka will travel to West Indies on Sunday, via France. He is expected to join the national team during the ODI segment of the tour," a statement issued by Sri Lanka Cricket said.
Shanaka did not travel with the team due to a visa issue he confronted, pursuant to the loss of his previous passport, which had a valid visa for the USA stamped on it.
