The world of sports will focus on cricket as the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup is set to begin from this Sunday, June 2, in the West Indies and first time hosts, United States of America.

However, a six (6) warm up matches are still lined up ahead of the main tournament at five venues across USA and the West Indies.

On Friday (31) Namibia will take on Papua New Guinea at Tarouba in Trinidad and Tobago beginning at 12.30am Sri Lanka time.

Canada takes on the Netherlands at Dallas, and the match is set to begin at 1.30am SL time, with West Indies scheduled to meet Australia at Port of Spain at 4.30am SL time.

Sri Lanka takes on Ireland at Lauderhill in Florida at 8.00pm SL time while at Port of Spain from 8.00pm SL time the match between Afghanistan and Scotland will take place.

On Saturday (June 1), the culmination of the warm-up games will take place in New York, with the game between Bangladesh and India, which begins at 8.00pm SL time.

The main event, the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, will inaugurate its 2024 edition on Sunday (June 2) with the curtain raiser match between neighbouring rivals, hosts USA and Canad, which is set to take place in Dallas from 6.00am SL time.

The second game of the day will take place between co-hosts West Indies and newcomers Papua New Guinea at Port of Spain, from 8.00pm SL time.

On Monday (June 3) two matches will be down for decisions – Namibia taking on Oman at Bridgetown at 6.00am SL time and Sri Lanka playing against South Africa at New York at 8.00am SL time.
