The fifth edition of Sri Lanka’s franchise cricket competition with international flavour, the Lanka Premier League (LPL) will reach the final stages at the R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium (RPICS) in Colombo, where four matches are scheduled to be played over the weekend.
The top four teams will advance, with teams seeded first and second are set to play in the first qualifier, while the third and fourth seed teams are set to clash in the only eliminator.
The loser of the first qualifier and the winner of the eliminator will play in the second qualifier, where the winner will meet the winner of the first qualifier in the LPL final to be played on Sunday (20).
The Dialog Schools Rugby League continues with the sixth week fixtures with four matches scheduled for Friday (19), and three on Sunday (21). Saturday (20) being a poya holiday, only one match has been scheduled.
The ACC Women’s Asia Cup 2024, where eight teams will battle out for the regional T20 silverware, begins on Friday (19) at Dambulla. A total of 12 matches will be played through the weekend, before reaching the final stage.
Sri Lanka Under-19s, who are currently touring England, are playing the second and final Youth Test from next Tuesday at Cheltenham. The match ends on Friday.
The 48th National Sports Festival, which began on Wednesday (17), will end on Friday (19) at the Sugathadasa Stadium in Colombo.
