Sri Lanka Cricket to launch Merchandising Licensing Programme

Sport

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC), holders of the 1996 and 2014 T20 World Cup titles, is planning to launch a Merchandising Licensing Programme aimed at expanding its global brand presence through officially licensed products.

To initiate this programme, SLC is calling for Expressions of Interest (EOIs) from qualified and experienced Sports Brand Licensing Agencies with a proven international track record in brand licensing and merchandising.

The selected partner(s), appointed through a transparent and competitive tender process, will serve as the official agent(s) for managing the SLC Merchandising Licensing Programme from 2026 to 2032.

The selected Licensing Agent/s will be responsible for identifying and onboarding reputed and recognised vendors to design, develop, distribute, and sell a wide range of officially licensed SLC branded or co-branded products, covering apparel, accessories, collectibles and other relevant products and services.

“The primary responsibilities of the licensing agent or agents is to advise SLC on the licensing business model, identify and evaluate potential vendors, lead vendor negotiations, monitor and manage vendor relationships and performance, ensure timely and accurate royalty reporting, revenue collection and also oversee other related aspects of the licensing programme,” SLC stated, releasing an official communique.

“Interested applicants may express interest in one or more of the following capacities, such as global market agent, territory-based agent or category-based agent, such as apparel, accessories and collectibles. EOIs, which are now published on www.srilankacricket.lk invites EOIs only from organisations that demonstrate proven expertise in sports brand licensing and merchandising, operational capability to manage multi-category, multi-territory programs, and strong networks, infrastructure and vendor relations in relevant markets and financial capability,” it added.
