The five-member Sri Lanka Men's tennis team will leave for the Asia/Oceania Group III Davis Cup by Rakuten 2021, to be held in Amman, Jordan.
The team includes Yasitha de Silva, Thehan Wijemanne, Chathurya Nilaweera and Vibuda Wijebandara while Renuok Wijemanne, a former Davis Cup player, will be the coach and non playing captain.
Yasitha de Silva, athe National champion of 2020, will play his fifth Davis Cup, while the 17-year-old Royal College player, Thehan Wijemanne will appear in for the second time.
Vibuda Wijebandara, a 19-year-old player from Ananda College while Chathurya Nilaweera, who is still 16, is from Stafford International School will be making their Davis Cup denuts.
The Asia/Oceania Group III Davis Cup by Rakuten 2021 will be held from September 15 to 20.
Besides Sri Lanka, hosts Jordan, Hong Kong, Kuwait, Malaysia, Qatar, Syria and Vietnam will be featured in the six-day competition.
