AIA L/O Cricket: SSC, first team to reach semi-finals

SSC became the first team to reach the semi-final of the ongoing AIA Inter-Club Limited Overs Cricket Tournament when they beat Badureliya SC by 7 wickets at  the SSC ground on Tuesday (15).

SSC leads Group ‘B’ with four wins in two games, with a total of 22 points followed by Bloomfield and Badureliya SC, who have won two matches each in six games. 

Army SC, Galle CC, Moors and Chilaw Marians are the other teams in the group. 

Colts and NCC, the table leader and second in Group ‘A’, too won their matches against Sri Lanka Ports Authority and Tamil Union respectively. 

But this group is yet to see confirmed semi-finalists, as NCC and Saracens are set to battle to determine the final standings of the teams. 

Colts, however, are assured of a semi-final slot.       

Three matches were abandoned due to wet ground conditions.  

The final six matches of the first round will be played on Wednesday (16) followed by the semi-finals on December 23 and 24 and the final on December 30.
