Galle CC pulled off a thrilling 5-run win against Chilaw Marians in the AIA Premier Inter-Club Limited Overs Cricket Tournament match played at Galle on Saturday (28).
A wet outfield at Galle proved to be a crucial factor as Chilaw Marians were skittled out for 199 leaving Galle CC an easy chase.
Galle CC was 151-6 when rain stopped play which handed them a narrow 5-run win on Duckworth/Lewis Method.
The top score for Chilaw Marians, put into bat, came from late-middle-order batsman Thikshila de Silva, who made 54 off 88 deliveries with four fours and a six.
Harsha Vithana remained unbeaten on 43 off 77 deliveries with four boundaries for Galle CC.
