The official announcement of the Ritzbury All Island Relay Carnival organised by the Ministry of Education and Sri Lanka Schools Athletic Association was made at a press briefing held at the NCC Pavilion last Thursday.
After a lapse of 16 years the Education Ministry had joined hands with the Sri Lanka Schools Athletic Association to event at the Bogambara Stadium, Kandy from June 22 to 24 with the participation of 358 schools competing in the under 13, 15, 17 and 19 categories.
In all over 4000 school children will exhibit their skills and talent which will open a window to be future national stars.
A Sri Lanka Air Force Bell 212 helicopter belonging to the No. 72 squadron has crashed into the Madhuru Oya reservoir this morning, Air FOrce Media Spokesman Eranda Geeganage said.
Update: Five of the twelve passengers on board the bell 212 aircraft that crashed into the Maduru Oya today, have succumbed to their injuries, the SLAF said.
