The Half Marathon Race 2016, an international event with special awards and trophies on offer, will be held at Pottuvil on Sunday (17).
The event is conducted by the Arugam Bay Development Forum will cover a distance of 21 kilometres.
The event will be held under the theme ‘Run for Education’.
The winner will receive a cash prize of Rs. 30000, while the second and third place are set to receive cash awards of Rs. 20000 and Rs. 10000 respectively.
A Sri Lanka Air Force Bell 212 helicopter belonging to the No. 72 squadron has crashed into the Madhuru Oya reservoir this morning, Air FOrce Media Spokesman Eranda Geeganage said.
Update: Five of the twelve passengers on board the bell 212 aircraft that crashed into the Maduru Oya today, have succumbed to their injuries, the SLAF said.
