The closing stage of events of the Kids Athletics Programme has been scheduled for Saturday (25) at the Maris Stella College ground in Negombo and on Thursday (30) at the Seevali Central College ground in Ratnapura.
The six-day event, held simultaneously at two venues, is conducted by the Sports and Physical Education Unit of the Ministry of Education.
The event sponsored by Nestle Lanka kicked off last year and at the initial competitions a total of 175,000 students took part in 222 Divisional, 74 Zonal and six Provincial competitions.
Students from the winning schools across 74 Zones will take part in this year’s All-Island Competition representing all provinces in Sri Lanka.
The organisers have scheduled the events for Grade 3 students at Maris Stella College ground in Negombo on Saturday (25).
The competition for Grade 4 students will take place on Thursday (30) in Ratnapura.
