Middle distance runner Nimali Liyanarachchi won her second consecutive title in the Women’s 800metre run clocking 2:06.14 seconds to edge out India’s Gomathi Mrimuth, who clocked 2:06.25 seconds, to place second at the second leg of the Asian Athletics Grand Prix held at Thammasat University Sports Complex in Bangkok on Thursday (25). Her timing at Bangkok was an improved performance after her feat of 2:07.18 seconds win the first leg on Monday (22). Gayanthika Abeyratne won the third place with a timing of 2:06.62 seconds.
