The 33rd Inter-Firm Badminton Championship 2016 organised by the Mercantile Badminton Association (MBA) and sponsored by Dulux, commenced at the MBA Courts Complex, Colombo 7, on October 8 and will continue till October 30.
Due to a heavy influx of entries, the tournament will last 17 days, viz October 8, 9, 14, 15, 16, and 19 to 30.
Both in the Men's and Women's categories there will be 2000 matches featuring 2200 players from 270 teams in 24 categories.
The events are: Men's 'A' to 'H' Divisions, Women's 'A' to 'E' Divisions, Men's Veterans 'A' to 'C' (Over 40), Masters (Over 50), Women's Veterans (Over 35) and Women's Veterans (Over 40).
In this highly competitive tourney, more than 40 National players will be in action.
