The 32nd Mercantile Badminton Association organised MBA Inter Firm Badminton Championship 2015 will be held this weekend and will be continued on October 16 to 18 and then October 23 to November 1 at the Mercantile Badminton Association Headquarters and Stadium, No. 28, Malalasekera Mawatha, Colombo 7. The tournament is sponsored by Dulux for 17th year in succession. The championship will be conducted in divisions A, B, C, D, E, F, G and H for Men and A,B, C, D and E for women. There will be a Veteran event for Men and Women. This year’s tournament already claims an increased participation of 193 teams comprising of 1170 players under 145 Men’s and 48 Women’s teams from 69 member companies. Play will commence at 4.30pm on all working days and at 9.00am onwards on weekends. The final matches and the award presentation will commence November 1 from 4.00pm onwards. The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has interdicted Colombo Fort Magistrate Kosala Senadheera.
The Supreme Court today refused interim relief in an application filed by President’s Counsel Senaka Walgampaya seeking an Order from the Supreme Court compelling the President to appoint judges to fill the existing vacancies in the Court Of Appeal.
The deadline for online applications to the 2024 G.C.E. Advanced Level (A/L) Examination has been extended until July 12, the Department of Examinations said.
