St. Joseph's College Negombo beat Rahula College Matara 41-22 to win the Schools Boys’ Under-17 Division ‘C’ Basketball Championship in the final played at the St. Peter’s College courts in Bambalapitiya.
Negombo Jasephians played well to dominated the first two quarters took the halftime with a commanding lead of 18 points as it ended in favour of them by 23-5.
Shenuka Fernando (8) and Pasindu Weerasinghe (7) top scored for the winners in the final while Tevindu Dilmith (8) and Ramudu Chamith (4) scored well for the losers.
Virunaka Perera of St. Joseph's Negombo was adjudged the Most Valuable Player while his teammate Rayan Fernando won the Best Offensive Player award.
Nimesh Akashana of Rahula College was adjudged the Best Defensive Player.
