The 43rd edition of the L.V. Jayaweera Inter-School Boxing Championship will begin this Saturday (11) at the Mahanama College auditorium with over 400 pugilists set to participate.
So far over 400 boxers from 125 schools have confirmed participation according to the organisers of the event.
The five-day event, which ends on Wednesday (15), will be held in 16 weight categories under five age groups.
Among the notable entrees this year are S. Thomas’ College Mt. Lavinia and Trinity College and five schools from Kandy, who have not appeared in this competition for the past 15 years.
