To commemorate the 60th Anniversary of the Sri Lanka Carrom Federation the 50th National Carrom Championship took off in a grand scale at the Carrom Federation Headquarters, Kohuwala on Saturday (20) and will conclude on Wednesday (24).
Conducted in six categories in Men's Singles, Women's Singles, Men's Doubles, Women's Doubles, Mixed Doubles and Veterans over three hundred and fifty slicers representing all districts of the island will battle for supremacy.
For the first time in the history of the game a handsome package of Rs. 100,000 is at stake for the Men's and Women's players winning the Championship in addition to the glittering championship trophies.
The award presentation will be held at the Headquarters, Kohuwala on Wednesday (24) in the presence of special invitees.
