The Athugalpura International Open Grading Chess Tournament, organised by Knight Flame Chess Club, will be held at the Blue Sky Hotel in Kurunegala from December 12 to 16.
The event, organised for the seventh time by Knight Flame CC in Kurunegala on behalf of the Chess Federation of Sri Lanka (CFSL), will feature five different age groups.
The event will be conducted under Swiss System with nine rounds of Under-6, 8, 10, 12 and 15 age groups for girls and boys.
The competition is expected to offer a prize money of Rs. 300,000 in total with other awards on offer.
At the sixth competition in 2014, Praneeth Kumar emerged the winner.
