Chess: Suneetha Wijesuriya celebrates 25th anniversary

Sri Lanka Chess Foundation together with Anatolia Karpov Chess Club of the Russian Centre organised a special Simultaneous Chess Exhibition Tournament at the Russian Centre Auditorium, to commemorate the 25th Anniversary of winning the Chess Olympiad Gold Medal by our ten times Women’s' National Chess Champion, Woman Fide Master Suneetha Wijesuriya.

At this Simultaneous Chess Tournament WFM Suneetha Wijesuriya played with 25 players at once and within five hours she won all the games.

The Chief Guest of the event, Anastasia Khokhlova, First Secretary of the Russian Federation and the Director of the Russian Centre in Colombo played an exhibition game with WFM Suneetha Wijesuriya at the Inaugural function held at the Russian Centre.
