A record forty teams have been entered for the Kurunegala district division III Cricket tournament this season.
This annual tournament is organised by the Kurunegala District Cricket Association.
The teams have been divided in to eight groups and the preliminary round matches will be played on league basis.
The winners of each group will go in to the quarter-finals which will be played in knockout basis.
Four teams have been selected for the provincial tournament after the conclusion of knock out stage.
The draw was held at the Welagedara Stadium board room recently in the presence of Aruna de Silva and Sunil Mohotti, executive members of Sri Lanka Cricket.
The second round matches will commence in July.
The groupings:
Group A: Sandalankawa Lions, Freedom SC, Old Annites SC. Polgahawela SC, Old Devans SC
Group B: Rangers SC, Giriulla SC, Galgamuwa SC, University SC, Bharatha Cricket Academy
Group C: Saga SC, Com Bank SC, RSA SC, Kurunegala Youth CC, Weralugolla SC
Group D: Biyugala SC, New Youth SC, Super Talent SC, Old Model SC, Kurunegala SC
Group E: Royal Crown SC, Independent SC, Wariyapola SC, Silver Hawks SC, Everpool SC
Group F: Mawathagama SC, Eleven Lions SC, Eksith SC, Victory SC, Zahirians SC
Group G: Gajahara SC, Agrarian SC, York Star SC, Kuliyapitiya Cricket Academy, Kuliyapitiya SC
Group H: Sandalankawa SC, Hettipola SC, Wayamba SC, Blue Steel SC, Ibbagamuwa SC
