Sri Lanka spinner Akila Dananjaya will visit the Center for Sports Science (CSS) of the Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research in Chennai for the second time this year, to get his bowling action reassessed.
Dananjaya, accompanied by Jerome Jayaratne, the Chief Operating Officer of Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC), will leave the country on Wednesday to Chennai.
Usually a spin bowling coach accompanies any bowler on such reassessment tests, but since the Sri Lanka coaching unit runs without a spin bowling coach at present, SLC has taken the move to have Jayaratne alongside Dananjaya in Chennai.
Dananjaya was reported of suspect illegal bowling action by the match officials of the first Test played between Sri Lanka and New Zealand on August 18 at Galle, along with New Zealand skipper.
Dananjaya should face a reassessment test within 14 days from being reported and will be allowed to play until the report is officially released.
Dananjaya was reported late last year during England's tour of Sri Lanka and was officially banned from bowling in international matches.
He was tested in Chennai, accompanied by the then spin bowling coach Piyal Wijetune, and was cleared by the ICC during mid February this year.
Dananjaya has claimed 33 Test wickets in six games, and has 51 ODI wickets from 36 games, with an addition of 16 international wickets from Twenty20s.
