The “Ananda Cricketer – the third inning” will be held on March 2 at the Winchester Hall, The Kingsbury at 7.30pm.
The event organised by the Old Anandians Sports Club Cricket Wing are aiming to make this an opportunity to meet and greet our cricketing friends from the past and to bring together the past cricketers of Ananda and to build a vibrant support system for Cricket at Ananda.
Last year they felicitated Anuruddha Polonowita, the former Ananda cricketer, College coach and national curator for many decades.
This year, they are hoping recognise those Anandians who have excelled in Cricket at National Level and brought fame to both country and school.
They are well known marketing personality Ranjith Pandithage, present national Test captain Dinesh Chandimal, former Test captains Arjuna Ranatunga and Marvan Atapattu along with former Sri Lanka Cricket Interim Committee Chairman and former school and national opening batsman Sidath Wettimuny.
Also on the podium would be the present National Coach Chandika Hathurusinghe and the present batting coach Thilan Samaraweera.
