Sri Lanka 'A' coach Avishka Gunawardena will join the Sri Lanka Test team in Canberra on Thursday (31) as the Batting Coach, according to a press release issued by Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) a short while ago today (30).
"Sri Lanka Cricket appointed ‘A’ team Coach Avishka Gunawaradena as the Batting Coach of the National Team, until the return of Jon Lewis, who is on leave to attend a family matter. Gunawardena will fly to Australia tonight to join the team and will remain with the side, until the conclusion of the 2nd Test match," the SLC statement said.
The 2nd Test match between Sri Lanka and Australia will commence on Friday (February 1) at the Manuka Oval, Canberra.
Australia lead the two-match Test series after winning the first Test at Gabba with two days to spare.
