Chamika Karunaratne shone with an allround performance for Business Management School (BMS) in their thrilling 6-run win against Saegis Campus in the final of Red Bull National Final which helped them emerge champions played at the Colts ground on Saturday (30).
Chamika slammed an unbeaten 29 ball knock of 64 which included four boundaries and half a dozen sixes for BMS.
After being invited to take first lease of the wicket, BMS went on to make a challenging score of 179 for 7.
Later in the day Chamika made Saegis Campus work hard for their runs as they were struggling on 100 for 5 in the 13th over.
Despite a fighting knock of 57 in 48 balls inclusive of five boundaries and a six by Sahan Arachchige and a useful knock of 29 by Sachitha Jayatilleke who was dismissed by Chamika, they were only able to muster a score of only 173 failing short by six runs which ensured a slot for BMS in the forthcoming Red Bull Campus World Cup which is scheduled to be played in Sri Lanka.
