Butterfly Vacations beat Kuwait Hawks by 4 wickets to win the second annual International Invitational Cricket Sixes 2016 was held on April 10 and 11 at the S. Thomas' College ground in Mt. Lavinia.
Batting first Kuwait Hawks posted 79 for the loss of two wickets in five overs and Butterfly Vacations, with two deliveries to spare, reached the target losing two wickets.
Dilshan Mendis and Anosh Fernando of Butterfly Vacations were named the best bowler and player of the tournament respectively while Nikhil Kulkarni of Kuwait Hawks won the award for the best batsman.
A total of 12 teams, including three from overseas, competed in the main competition while five teams were in frat in the Veterans' category.
Following the success in 2015, the past cricketers of S. Thomas’ College hosted the second successive International and School Cricket Sixes for ‘The SAGT Trophy’ which attracted foreign teams as well as local mercantile teams along with leading school cricket teams.
