The incumbent President of the International Cricket Council (ICC), Zaheer Abbas will arrive in Sri Lanka today (18) upon an invitation made by the Interim Committee Chairman of Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC), Sidath Wettimuny, SLC said. SLC further stated that Abbas would be the guest of honour for the third ODI between Sri Lanka and the visiting Pakistan team to be played at the R. Premadasa ICS in Colombo on Sunday (19). “Sri Lanka Cricket wishes to announce that former Pakistani batsman and the present ICC President Zaheer Abbas will arrive in Sri Lanka today. Chairman of SLC Sidath Wettimuny invited the newly elected ICC President to visit Sri Lanka when they met at the ICC annual conference in Barbados in June 2015,” an SLC media communiqué said. “This will be his first official visit to a full member nation since he took over as the president of ICC. Mr. Abbas will be the Guest of Honour at the third ODI of the ongoing Pakistan tour of Sri Lanka on Sunday (19).”
