The curtains of the Inter-District limited over cricket tournament will come down today (2) with the final clash between Kegalle District and Colombo District scheduled to be played at the SSC ground.
In the run up to the final Kegalle District led by Ishan Jayaratne overcame Badulla District in the quarter final and then coasted to a convincing seven wicket win over the strong Kandy District in a low scoring game.
On the other hand Colombo District led by Ashan Priyanjan got the better of Matara District in the quarter-final and they too recorded an easy seven wicket win against Mannar District which was also a low scoring affair.
However the tournament which began in a hurried manner did not produce the glamour which was expected with some of the matches ending in one sided affairs.
The two teams will be missing some of their top players who are on national duty playing the U23 limited over tournament which is in progress now in Bangladesh.
