Former Sri Lanka skipper and recently retired cricket star Kumar Sangakkara has signed up with the newest franchise-based Twenty20 championship, the Pakistan Super League (PSL) according to reports. Sangakkara also has signed up with the Masters Champions League (MCL), which will run alongside the PSL. Besides Sangakkara, his former teammate Mahela Jayawardene too has signed up with both competitions. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has registered a fleet of cricket stars alongside the two Sri Lankan cricketers in the likes of Chris Gayle, Kieron Pollard, Dwayne Bravo, Kevin Pietersen and Shakib Al Hasan who will be drafted to different franchises upon bidding. The inaugural PSL, to be played in Dubai and Sharjah from February 4 to 24, will feature five franchise-based teams from the provincial capitals of Pakistan - Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, Quetta and Islamabad – with a prize money of $1 million on offer for the winning team.
