Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) Selector Committee has re-appointed allrounder Shashikala Siriwardene as the captain of the Sri Lanka National Women's team in ODI and Twenty20 formats according an official media release issued by SLC. Former skipper Chamari Attapattu has been appointed as the vice captain. Siriwardene led the Sri Lanka Women’s team for six years before stepping down in April 2014. She stated that her decision to step down was solely based by her desire to give another player a chance to captain Sri Lanka and for personal reasons. Atapattu took over the Sri Lanka Women’s team as skipper before Siriwardene was re-appointed on Tuesday (30).
