Sri Lanka Cricket has appointed former fast bowler Rumesh Ratnayake as a consultant coach to the Sri Lanka cricket team.
Ratnayake will join the Sri Lanka team that is currently touring New Zealand by next week.
“SLC wishes to inform that former Sri Lankan fast bowler Rumesh Ratnayake has been appointed as a Consultant Coach to join the national team currently in New Zealand. Ratnayake will be joining the squad from the 4th of February up to the 20th of February. He will be assisting the national team's preparation for the upcoming ICC World Cup in New Zealand and Australia,” a statement made by SLC said.
“SLC has made this inclusion taking into consideration the views of the chairman of selectors and the national team management. All other support staff personnel will remain intact with the squad,” the statement added.
