Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) Selection Committee has picked a preliminary squad of 23 players to select the ODI squad for the upcoming Bangladesh tour.
"SLC have asked those players not to play domestic cricket, until the team’s departure for the tour," the SLC Press Release stated.
"The players were asked not to play domestic cricket following a request made by the Head Coach Chandika Hathurusinghe and we complied with that".
"The move is aimed at helping the new coach to have quality time with the players".
Training is scheduled to commence on Wednesday (28).
The preliminary ODI squad: Thisara Perera, Upul Tharanga, Danushka Gunathilaka, Kusal Mendis, Dinesh Chandimal, Angelo Mathews, Kusal Perera, Asela Gunaratne, Niroshan Dickwella, Sadeera Samarawickrama, Suranga Lakmal, Nuwan Pradeep, Dasun Shanaka, Lahiru Gamage, Vishwa Fernando, Dushmantha Chameera, Shehan Madushanka, Lahiru Kumara, Akila Dananjaya, Jeffrey Vandersay, Amila Aponso, Lakshan Sadakan, Chaturanga de Silva.
