The Sri Lanka Deaf Cricket team emerged runners-up at the 3rd Asia Deaf Cricket Tournament which was played at the Lal Bahadur Stadium in Hydrabad, India from March 13 to 19.
In the final Sri Lanka lost to India by 156 runs, despite their impressive performance in the preliminary rounds.
In the final Sri Lanka put India into bat and were given a massive target of 392 runs.
India piled up a mammoth 391 for the loss of 7 wicket with opener Vipul Patel hammering 139 runs inclusive of 15 fours and three sixes.
His partner Vinay Sanap hit 60 inclusive of nine fours and two sixes.
For Sri Lanka Udaya Lakmal finished off with four wickets but conceding 77 runs.
In their run-chase Sri Lanka could not find their usual rhythm and were eventually bowled out for 238 runs in 48.3 overs.
Skipper Sampath Jayasinghe top scored with 56 inclusive of four boundaries while Dinuka Sachin remained unbeaten on 34 with four boundaries.
Besides the two finalists Nepal and Bangladesh competed in the seven-day tournament.
