Hours after naming Angelo Mathews as Limited Overs skipper, the Selection Panel of Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) named a 16-man squad for the upcoming Tri-Nation ODI Series in Bangladesh.
SLC in an official press release stated that its "Selection Panel has appointed Angelo Mathews as the white-ball Captain of the national team on a long term basis."
The upcoming Tri-Nation ODI Series in Bangladesh, involving the host, Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka, will be Mathews' first assignment as the captain after being reinstated in over six months.
Dinesh Chandimal will continue to lead the Sri Lanka Test side.
Among the 16-man ODI squad named, Sri Lanka has recalled Kusal Mendis while naming uncapped Shehan Madushanka into the side.
Former ODI skippers, Upul Tharanga and Thisara Perera are among the list, which also includes Test skipper Chandimal and allrounder Wanindu Hasaranga.
Sri Lanka is expected to depart to Bangladesh this Saturday (13).
