Sri Lanka opener and Team Galle skipper Upul Tharanga hit a brilliant knock of 124 off 122 deliveries to guide his team to an emphatic 75-run win against Team Colombo and secure the SLC Super 4s Provincial Limited Overs Championship at R. Premadasa Stadium on Sunday (10).
Electing to bat, Team Galle posted 320 runs for the loss of seven wickets and shot out Team Colombo for 245 runs with 34 deliveries to spare.
Tharanga, who spearheaded Team Galle, hit 13 boundaries and three sixes, while partnering with Sadeera Samarawickrama in a 125-run stand for the second wicket.
Samarawickrama hit 62 off 71 deliveries while spinner Lakshan Sandakan captured four wickets, despite conceding 66 runs in 10 overs.
Team Colombo failed to maintain a healthy flow in their run chase and were eventually bundled out 75 runs short.
Spinners Malinda Pushpakumara and Nishan Peiris shared six wickets between them.

The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has interdicted Colombo Fort Magistrate Kosala Senadheera.
