West Indies 'A' thrashed Sri Lanka 'A' by 165 runs in the first Unofficial ODI match of the three-match series played at Dambulla on Tuesday (25).

Electing to bat first West Indies 'A' piled up 267-6 in 50 overs and bowled out Sri Lanka 'A' for 102 with 17.3 overs to spare. 

For West Indies 'A' Kyle Hope (81), Jason Mohammed (58) and Rovman Powell (55) hammered half centuries while Binura Fernando and Amila Aponso picked two wickets each. 

Chasing 268 runs for victory, Sri Lanka 'A' slumped to 84-9 but a fighting knock from Shehan Jayasuriya, who top scored with 24 saved the home team from the embarrassment of being bowled out for less than 100 runs on the board. 

Off-spinner Jon-Russ Jaggesar picked up four wickets while fast bowlers Ransford Beaton and Delron Johnson ripped through the Sri Lanka 'A' batting line up by claiming three and two scalps respectively earlier on. 

The game that was kicked off on Monday (24) was forced to be extended for Tuesday (25) due to bad weather. 

The second Unofficial ODI will be played at the Welegedara Stadium in Kurunegala on Thursday (27) followed by the third and final game at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Sunday (30).
