Sri Lanka swimmer Matthew Abeysinghe qualified for the semi-final of Men's 100m Freestyle event at the Commonwealth Games 2018 today (7).
Matthew clocked 49.11seconds to finish at second place in the Heat 7, behind Canadian Yuri Kisil.
He is pitted to compete in Lane 3 in the Semi-final 1, which will be held at 4.29pm Sri Lanka time.
Two other swimmers Kyle Abeysinghe and Cherantha de Silva also competed in the heats but failed to move forward.
Kyle was placed eighth with a timing of 52.20seconds in Heat 5 while Cherantha was placed eighth in Heat 8 after clocking 52.06seconds.
