Sri Lankan paddler Buwaneka Jayasinghe beat Simon Tomlinson of Jamaica 4-3 in the Men's Singles Table Tennis Group 10 match at the Commonwealth Games 2018 today (10).
Jayasinghe beat Tomlinson in a closely battled affair, where the game was evenly poised at 3-3 until the decider seventh set.
The 33-year-old lost the first 10-12 but bounced back to claim the following sets 11-4 and 11-6 to lead 2-1.
However Tomlinson (26) retaliated to claim the following two sets 11-9 and 11-5 to regain the lead 3-2 before Jayasinghe returned to claim the sixth set 11-9 and equalize 3-3.
The decider set was won by Jayasinghe (11-9), who claimed the match 4-3.
