Two out of three pairs paddlers of Sri Lanka paddlers managed to win their Table Tennis Mixed Doubles Round of 64 matches at the Commonwealth Games 2018 today (11).
Doubles pairs Rohan Sirisena, Ishara Madurangi and Buwaneka Jayasinghe, Erandi Warusawithana won their games by 3-1 and 3-2 respectively while Imesh Ranasinghe and Hansani Kapugeekiyana lost their match.
Sirisena and Madurangi beat Masoud Mtalaso and Fathiya Pazi of Tanzania 3-1 with set scores of 9-11, 11-4, 11-9 and 11-4.
They will meet Sharath Achantha and Mouma Das of India in the Round of 32 match later today.
Jayasinghe and Warusawithana recorded a close win with set scores reading as 12-10, 9-11, 11-2, 7-11 and 11-9.
The duo is set to meet Indians Shankar Shetty and Madhurika Patkar in the Round of 32 later today.
Malaysian duo Javen Choong and Karen Lyne beat Ranasinghe and Kapugeekiyana in straight sets 12-10, 11-2 and 13-11.

Anura Kumara Dissanayake is so far leading by securing (52.5%) while Sajith Premadasa secured (21.5 % ) and Ranil Wickremesinghe (19.2%) trailing behind. Meanwhile, independent candidate Ariyanethirnan Pakkiyaselvam secured the Nallur Electorate.
