Sri Lankan weightlifter Viraj Thilanka finished off at overall fourth in the Men's 62kg category with an impressive combined lift of 279kgs at the Commonwealth Games 2018 today (5).
Thilanka was earlier potentially placed for a silver medal but failed in his last two attempts in lifting 160kgs falling five kgs short of bronze medalist Talha Talib of Pakistan who lifted 283kgs in total.
Thilanka lifted 124kgs in Snatch and 155kgs in Clean and Jerk.
The gold medal was won by Malaysian lifter Muhammad Aznil Bidin, who lifted 288kgs in total while Morea Baru of Papua New Guinea lifted 286kgs to win the silver medal.
