The Sports Ministry has issued a gazette declaring e-sports, a form of competition using video games, as a new sport in Sri Lanka.
A gazette to this effect had been signed by Sports Minister Harin Fernando on September 26.
The gazette said that e-sports will be brought under the Sports Law.
