Colombo Football Club has qualified to take part in the AFC Cup Inter-Club Asia Zone Championship preliminary rounds which will begin on January 31 in India.
Colombo FC will meet Mohun Bhagan SC of India in their first match.
According to Colombo FC sources, the club has obtained permission from the Football Federation of Sri Lanka (FFSL) to field four foreign players and get five players released from other clubs for the competition.
The four foreign players to represent Colombo FC are Nigerian Mohamed Hamsa of Blue Star SC Kalutara and the club's very own players, Mumas Yapo of Ivory Coast, David Osaji and Afis Olefi from Nigeria.
The five local players released from other clubs are Ashikar Rahman and Sajith Kumara of Army SC, Risnas Mohamed of Renown SC, E.B. Channa of Blue Star SC and Air Force SC goalkeeper Prabath Ruwan.
The tournament is organised by the Asia Football Confederation (AFC).
