India beat Sri Lanka by 2-0 in their opening game of SAFF Suzuki Cup 2018 played at Bangabandhu Stadium in Bangladesh on Wednesday (5).
India took a 1-0 lead in the first half scoring a goal in 35th minute by Ashique Kuruniyan and the second goal was scored by Lallianzuala Chagte in 47th minute of the game.
Sri Lankan Head Coach Mr. Nizam Packeer Ali said that, "India is a tough team, we have to accept the truth. We could have lost by 1-0 but we made a lot of mistakes in the game, but we will hope to do better the next time. Our midfield didn't function very well, and I will be focusing mainly on rectifying that for the coming games".
Sri Lanka’s second match will be played with Maldives tomorrow, 07th September 2018 at Bangabandhu National Stadium Dhaka in Bangladesh and Sri Lanka Still has the chance to enter semi finals defeating Maldives.
