One of the best footballers produced in Sri Lanka, P.D. Sirisena, a football maestro, who was nicknamed 'Master', passed away after a brief illness on Monday (18) morning.
He was 77 years old at the time of his demise.
Sirisena was a reputed player during his heydays and later on his life went on to become one of the top coaches the country ever produced.
He also was appointed as an Advisor of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) and was a Technical Advisor for the Football Federation of Sri Lanka (FFSL).
Sirisena was the founder of Saunders FC and was its coach for many years.
His remains will be taken to the Saunders FC clubhouse from 9.00am to midnight on Tuesday (19) and will be kept at the Jayaratne Funeral Parlour on Wednesday (20) and Thursday (21).
The funeral will take place on Thursday (21) at the Borella Cemetery at 5.00pm.
In a statement issued by the FFSL, stated that its Executive Committee has decided to undertake all funeral arrangements of the legend P.D. Sirisena.
