Malaysia sealed a semi-final slot of the Bangabandhu Gold Cup beating Sri Lanka 2-0 at the Sylhet Stadium on Saturday (31). Malaysia beat hosts Bangladesh 1-0 in their first match and continued their winning spree in the six team meet. Sri Lanka were denied by the woodwork in the 41st minute with N. Rowshan seeing his free kick hit the crosspiece. In the added time of the first half, Malaysia took the lead from a penalty through forward Syahrul Azwari (1-0). In the 60th minute Mohamad Syawal headed down Muhammad Syazwan’s corner to midfielder Mohammad Ridzuan who made no mistake to smash home from the edge of six-yard box (2-0).
