Mohun Bagan Sports Club, a top club from Kolkata, India, edged out Colombo Football Club 2-1 in the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Club Football Championship 2017 qualifier match played at the Racecourse ground in Colombo on Tuesday (31).
Kean Lewis opened scoring for Mohun Bagan SC in the 13th minute while Colombo FC struck an equaliser through Nigerian Afis Olayemi in the 29th minute as both teams were placed 1-all at halftime.
In the second half Sehnaj Singh struck the crucial goal for Mohun Bagan, who won the first match between the two teams.
The second leg game between Mohun Bagan SC and Colombo FC will be played in Kolkata, India on February 7 and the winner on aggregate will reach the second round of the competition.
