Dulanjali of Hambanthota district captured six wickets including a hat-trick but Matara district ladies cricket team crushed the Hambanthota district team by an innings and 59 runs in the first game of the Southern province Inter district cricket tournament played at Vijitha Central College grounds.
Dulanjali dismissed Isuri Tharuka (10), Kasuni Ruwanthika (00) and Tharushi Sandunika (00) in successive balls of her 11th over.
Matara district skipper Lihini Apsara invited the Hambanthota team to bat first and was able to restrict them to 49 runs.
Lihini captured six wickets while Tharuka Shehani captured two wickets.
Matara district declared their first essay at 127/9 with Lihini Apsara, Kalpani Nimesha and Tharuka Shehani scoring over twenty runs each.
S.N. Dulanjali captured six wickets while Nethmi Gunawardena captured two.
Tharushi Sandunika 6/8 and Isuri Tharuka 4/9 demolished the Hambanthota team for 19 runs to win the game by an innings and 59 runs.
