The 17th Donald Steel Golf Championship organised by the Victoria Golf and Country Resort will be worked off at Victoria Golf Course in Digana, Kandy on Saturday (7) from 7.00am. Over 120 amateur golfers from many countries including Great Britain, Canada, Germany and Sri Lanka take part in this championship. Alongside the main tournament other events that will take place are the Ebert’s Pot, to be awarded to the men golfer with the Best Net Score, the Pam Fernando Cup, on offer to the lady golfer with the Best Gross Score, the Victoria Bowl, the award for the lady golfer with the Best Nett Score and separate contests for ladies and gents for the Nearest to the pin and longest drive. Dynasty Residences, Cinnamon Grand, Orange, Etisalat, Emirates and Pro Golf are the other sponsors of the event.
