As the Solar Therm Sri Lanka Open 2014, entered the third day on Thursday (29) Mithun Perera improved on his first two round scores and scored a five under par 66 to lead the 40 players after the cut-off was administered.
Defending champ Prabagaran maintained his composure and returned a three under par to be one stroke behind the leader Mithun on a total of 11 under par.
Lalith Kumara too returned a five under par to share the honour of carding the best score for the day with Mithun, to climb the leader board at one over par in 8th place. Dharma the Indian Pro held on to the leading trio three strokes off the leader.
Anura Rohana and Zen Dharmaratne returned even Par scores to remain in 4th and 5th place respectively.
The Ladies too faced the starter for the Pam Fernando Trophy sponsored by UTE – CAT and Tania Balasuriya was tied with Niloo Jayathilake for the best Gross Score of the day on 85, while Tania, Irene Scarth and Kumari Herath were tied on 73 in the Nett event.
There seems to be everything to play for, in the Ladies event as they go in to the final round for the Pam Fernando Trophy.
