Nishan Premathiratne and Arvin Fernando became the overall winners of the much anticipated 20th AmCham-FedEx Express Golf Tournament which took place at the Royal Colombo Golf Club (RCGC).
The American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) Sri Lanka and Mountain Hawk Express (MHE) – Licensee of FedEx Express, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX), organized this event, which a eagerly awaited tournament within Sri Lanka’s golfing fraternity and considered to be one of the most prestigious events in the sporting calendar.
The tournament was played to an individual stableford format, with the players teeing off to a shotgun start at 7:00a.m.
The overall winners of the Tournament, Premathiratne and Fernando will be enjoying Business Class tickets to Hong Kong courtesy of Cathay Pacific, the Official Airline Sponsor of the tournament.
In the AmCham members category, Mohamed R. Mihular was the winner, with A.W.M. Reza making it to the runner-up position.
Dinoo De Mel won the Longest and Most Accurate Drive on the 8th hole in the women’s category, while Afflli Raheem won the Longest and Most Accurate Drive on the 8th hole in the men’s category.
Nearest to the Pin on the 9th hole in the women’s category was won by Eliane Sterchi, while M. Fazeel won the same in the men’s category.
An array of prizes were distributed for many categories, and the Masters Division was won by Paul Davis scoring 45 points and Hemasiri Subasinghe won the Seniors Division with a score of 41 points.
